In tennis technique training, one mistake is still made very frequently: the coach lines up the players in a row and plays a long series of balls to the player at the front. The players waiting have nothing to do and become bored or distracted. This results in inefficient training with lots of breaks and frustration, known as “column training.” To make your group training effective, you should always keep an eye on your players’ workload. The 8-second rule, which I explain in this video, is important here. With this two-part series, you can take your training to a new level and ensure motivation, enthusiasm, and learning at the same time. In the first part, I explain the main problem and give you three tips on how to overcome the initial obstacles. Have fun implementing them!
