Early impact points in tennis are always a good way to avoid hitting the ball upside down or overhead. If I hit a ball early, or on the rise, I also shorten the time it takes for the ball to fly back to my opponent. I can therefore put the opponent under more pressure with early hit points. However, hitting the ball early needs to be learned. You need good timing and a good technique to be able to handle this ball. The “white line/yellow line” drill is perfect for practicing the early impact points in tennis. You can create many drills from this system, as a rhythm exercise, but also as a game against each other. In this video, I show you 9 variations.
