This video features eight varied hand-eye coordination drills using hoops. The exercises are ideal for larger training groups and work particularly well with junior players. The drills provide a good mix of easier and more challenging coordination tasks. Hoops are used in different ways and combined with a variety of throwing, catching and reaction challenges. In addition to hand-eye coordination, the exercises develop reaction skills, perception, orientation and movement control. Several variations involve working with a partner, adding teamwork and communication to the coordination challenges.
With different levels of difficulty, coaches can easily adapt the eight drills to the age and ability level of their players. They are ideal for warm-ups, dedicated coordination sessions or as a fun and challenging addition to regular tennis training.
