In this video, I demonstrate 16 drills designed to improve explosiveness, reaction speed and quickness in individual tennis training. The exercises combine athletic movement with tennis-specific footwork and stroke execution, making them ideal for an intensive one-on-one training session.
The drills are divided into three categories:
1. Medicine Ball Drills
Different medicine ball exercises are used to develop explosive movement, dynamic changes of direction and active footwork. The main focus is on producing quick and powerful movements.
2. Coach-Fed Drills
The coach feeds balls from different positions and into different movement patterns. The player has to react quickly, move explosively to the ball and execute the stroke with control and intensity.
3. Interactive Hitting Patterns with the Coach
These drills transfer speed training into more game-related situations. Coach and player interact throughout the rally, combining perception, reaction, footwork and stroke execution.
By combining these three training methods, you can create a varied and intensive individual session that specifically develops explosiveness, acceleration, reaction speed and tennis-specific footwork.
