The smash ball is usually the “crowning glory” of a successful net attack. So if you want to practice playing at the net with your students, the smash ball is a must. The smash is very similar to the serve in terms of the movement sequence, with the difference that the “toss” is dictated by the opponent and the student has to position themselves under the ball. Therefore, acquiring the correct footwork is of fundamental importance for a good smash. In this video, I show you some technique exercises for the smash ball for group training. In the drills, we place a lot of emphasis on footwork, but also on precision and practice the stroke in various facets. Have fun practicing!
