In this video, we present seven age-appropriate coordination drills designed for tennis players aged 9 to 12. The exercises are performed using cones as well as cooperative hand-eye coordination tasks and combine movement, footwork, and ball feel in a playful and engaging way. The goal is to develop fundamental motor skills that are especially important for long-term athletic development at this age.
Some of the drills are performed without a ball and help improve balance, orientation, and efficient footwork. Other exercises are done together with a partner and a ball, focusing on reaction, timing, and ball control. The varied tasks keep the children constantly moving and allow them to steadily improve coordination, concentration, and confidence.
These drills are ideal for junior tennis training, as a warm-up before technical or match sessions, or as a standalone coordination block. Thanks to the playful structure, simple organization, and clear progression, enjoyment of movement, safety, and learning success are always the main focus.
